what's new with WhoCares?
february 2011
Aiyana, Michelle, and Carrie (a WhoCares? friend), will be traveling to Cambodia again in February!
Here's what we'll do while we're there:
- We're looking forward to seeing the progress on another well that is being built - our fifth water and sanitation project! Money had been donated for this one in memory of Diane Hoener by her husband, Ed. What a lovely tribute this is -- we feel honored to be a small part of this gift to the Cambodian people.
- We have some money to give to CHO (our partner organization in Cambodia) to help feed and support the babies at the AIDS hospice. Many thanks to the donors from Cornerstone Ministries!
- We will also be touching base with CHO about Imagine Goods, the project we have started in order to comission and sell bags made by women who have micro-businesses (see our Cambodia page for more on that project).
We'll update everyone on our progress by checking in on our blog, so be sure to stay tuned!
imagine if we all did . . .
There is more to look at than just the price tag when we think about what we wear - let's check into this!
june 2010
Aiyana and Michelle co-led another exposure trip to Cambodia. This team of fourteen was exposed to and taught about issues of poverty, trafficking, and the many issues that go along with those things.
We were also able to visit another, brand new, WhoCares? well. It was a special treat as the 2 ladies (Estelle and Laura) who had organized the fundraisers at their college for the drilling of this well, were on this team and able to see the new well! If you want to learn more about how this trip went, check out the blog entries we made while we were there.
